Pentecost over Jerusalem NZFifty days after Easter Jesus' friends were together in Jerusalem for the First Pentecost.
He sent the Holy Spirit as he had promised. The gathering friends were filled with that Spirit enabling them with reverence, strength, enthousiasm, and a mission to spread the Good News to the end of the world. That day became the birthday of the Church.
Twenty centuries later that same Spirit came down on a gathering of Jesus' friends in another Jerusalem, in New Zealand. It became the heart of the catholic Maori mission along the Wanganui River and the birth place of the Daughters of our Lady of Compassion.
A door was opened to a bright future. The little church, blessed by bishop Redwood, became a beacon and an outreach of Holy Spirit over Jerusalen in New Zealand.
Inspired by that good news I painted the picture above.
May the Spirit fill you with aroha,which is love for all.
