Combined art

On the last day of my surprise-visit to my family in Nederland two of my nieces, Sophy and Sera and myself created the above painting. Sophy asked me do a painting. At eleven she is already very good at it. Her sister Sera had the idea of a hammock and coconut trees, Sophy added the cat, and I drew a few lines. Together we added the colours, at times simultaneously.

So it was a combined piece of art, admired by their mum, my niece Marloes. Her parents celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the beginning of my holiday. That occasion was the motivation of my trip which became as a surprise for my brother Martin and my self as well.

With a grateful heart I think back to the relaxing time and the many moments of hospitality and joy with my family and friends. They asked me to come back after I've made some more paintings and drawings. My latest exhibition in the Plimmerton NZ-church-hall helped the local St Vincent de Paul society and paid for my trip. Who knows ? Time will tell. God willing.
